This is unquestionably one of the world's greatest treks, making a natural circuit around the stunning Annapurna Massif. We start out by way of a delightful 3-days walk from Gorkha, passing
through picturesque terraced farmland to reach the Marsyangdi Valley, which provides us with a gateway to the arid north side of the Himalayan. As we trek through this high Buddhist world,
Manslu, Himal Chuli, the Annapurnas and Gangapurna present an ever-changing panorama of some of the world's greatest peaks. Beyound the Tibetan-style village of Braga and Manang, with their
well-preserved monasteries, we reach the high point of the route at the 5416
meters-high Throung La, which
provides an exciting challenge. In the Kali Gandaki Valley, a wealth of new experiences awaits us including the colorful temple complex at Muktinath, the region's world-famous apple pie and apple brandy and the glorious dawn view of Dhaulagiri from poon Hill above the Ghorepani. After a night at the luxurious Pokhara Hotel and Lodge beside Pokhara's phewa Tal lake, we finish off with a trip to Chitwan Jungle Lodge, for elephant riding and rhinoceros and tiger spotting.
