TILMA'S COL & NAYA KANGA TREKS {Max Alt.5844m}
The Langtang Valley, North of Kathmandu, Nepal
Due north of Kathmandu, the Langtang River runs east to west, separated from the Tibetan border by the peaks of the Langtang Himalayan. At the head of this valley is a little-known pass, Tlman's Col {c 5400m}, which was discovered in 1949, during the course of a Royal Geographical Society expedition. This exciting new trekking route and high peak trip will enter the Langtang valley by crossing this pass from the beautiful and rarely-visited Jugal Himal. After a short drive from Kathmnadu, Nepal we trek northwards for a week on a long ridge, the panch pokhari lekh, which affords splendid trekking and spectacular views. Located high up amongst rugged mountains. The pass crossing has a real" expedition" feel to it. Descending the picturesque langtang Valley, to Kyangjin Gompa, we have allowed 3 days for the ascent of Naya Kanga peaks{5844m}, an excellent and popular trekking peak which commands fine views of an array of peaks, including nearby Shishapangma{8046m}. after the climb the trip is far from over, as we exit the Langtang Valley by way of the Ganja La
pass {high c.5200m} and have a further 6 days of Superb trekking through the unspoiled of
Helambu.
