 Trekking and climbing in the forbidden Rolwaling The Rolwaling is one of the most alluring of all of Nepal's high mountain Valleys, lying on the border with Tibet and separated from that territory by the formidable peaks of Menlungtse and Guri Shankar. It is only possible to enter this are as a member of a climbing team, and over the last 7 year we has run 8 our 9th successful expedition to Ramdung Go {5925m}, the best of the trekking peaks in the Rolwaling. From Barabise, we make a delightful 10 days approach through the terraced farmland and high forested ridges of the Bhote Kosi and Sun Kosi valleys before entering the Rolwaling and Climbing to the highest settlement at Beding. Offering brilliant climbing positions and fine views including a glimpse of Everest, Ramdung certainly ranks amongst the most attractive of Nepal's trekking peaks. After the climb we continue to the head of the Rowaling and make a crossing of the Tesi Lapcha La pass high{5750m}, a magnificent and challenging pass, which gives access to the Everest National park and the Khumbu capital at Namche Bazaar. We fly back to Kathmandu, Nepal from the mountain airstrip at Lukla. |
